Modern finance function in companies is becoming increasingly complex, encompassing not only accounting, planning, and control, but also strategic projects such as M&A and fundraising. This is particularly challenging for large companies, where consolidation of financial data is required.
Now is the last moment to change our mindset about long-term forecasting - models where the company's planning process is carried out only once a year do not work anymore. If you want to ensure continuity of your business, it is necessary to implement a continuous forecasting, or so-called "rolling forecast" approach, which allows to adapt company's planning process to external environment changes. Therefore, it is advisable to assess the introduction of available digital tools.
We are convinced that digitalization solutions, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), will not deliver the desired results unless implemented by well-informed employees. And digitalization solutions will not replace financial professionals - but financial professionals who do not master these tools will be replaced by those who know how to successfully use them.
